What a great month! We've been busy at work this month as Kitten Season continues to increase the number of cats that need to be neutered.
Kitten season is strenuous for our team but every bit of help we receive makes a massive amount of difference. We really appreciate all of our donors and volunteers that help us make a difference in the lives of our community cats.
Here is one of the star cats that we met this month:
For those of you who don't know Boots story, Boots had emergency surgery for Pyometra! Pyometra is a bacterial infection in the uterus and is a serious and life threatening condition that must be treated promptly and aggressively, and is an EXTREMELY expensive procedure.
Pyometra comes as a result of not spaying female cats when they are of appropriate age (min. 8-12 weeks). It can result in the accumulation of infection in the bloodstream or abdominal cavity, which can rapidly lead to systemic infection, shock, and death.
Please PLEASE fix your cats, whether feral, community, indoor, or outdoor!! This is such a common issue that can be easily avoided via spay/neuter.
We were able to raise $200 for Boot's surgery.
She was able to be sent home with meds and has been resting comfortably at home with her wonderful human. Thanks so much for all who have donated, shared, and/or prayed for this sweet girl!! We are so relieved she was able to be spayed and treated for this heartbreaking condition before it became fatal. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts ♥️🐾
